in 2009 i left school. i completed 5th year. it was stupid and i regret it so badly. im looking to a 1 year leaving cert course but i can only find 2 year courses. i live in kimmage so would need to be local-ish. would a college let me do a 1 year course since i completed 5th year before?

could i choose subjects ive never done before? like french for example or will i just stick with what ive done for my junior cert? what subjects are compulsory? i would like to avoid irish as its my worst subject and it has no impact on my life.

    thanks for any help

Talk to the people in Pearse College, City of Dublin ETB. They specialise in this.

yeah they have a 2 year course. i emailed asking if i can do the "repeat leaving cert" course which is for 1 year. i told them my situation that i have completed 5th year. ill await their reply. i will do the 2 year course if i have no choice

should i be worried that their open day was in january though?

If you have time, I would ring and ask to make an appointment to speak with someone in there. They really are the experts for people in your situation.

Don't worry about missing the Open Day.

If you want to, you can also do the LC as an external student.

Although, doing so limits one to the, generally, more academic subjects.
