Send them an email giving notice of cancelling and request confirmation of same.

If I remember rightly, this doesn't work, some excuse about being in the Rep of Ireland.
You'll have to ring them, go through the options, give all your details to the 1st person who speaks who then put you onto someone else, they'll probably hang up at some stage, and then you'll have to go through the whole process again !
/at least that was my experience and a few colleagues aswell

That does not work, I wrote, emailed and spent €9 on calls today but I am still under contract. The contract was cancelled on the 31/1/14 and the direct debit stopped but they still accessed my bank account and took my money. They want me to pay a further €36 before they will allow me 31 days notice.

If you know someone who has Sky talk you could use their phone to call Sky for free.

Well contact your bank and ask them to get it back as it was taken fraudulently. Is there a direct debit guarantee in Ireland?
