Have a quick question: Has anyone out there studied Animation in Ballyfermot and feel it's the best place to study it? Worthwhile? I am aware of the reputation but am curious about the facilities/quality of teaching.

    prospective animation applicant....

    HI StarrySue,

I studied there... but it was about 10 years ago so very out of date here! It's all about the teaching staff, I would recommend finding out about the teachers in all the prospective animation courses. Facilities wise, again important, especially if you want to get into computer animation. I think I heard from a recent student at Dunloaghaire animation course that they do much more experimental animation studies (Even animation with Sand!!).. When I went to Ballyfermot, it was very much a classsical style of animation we were taught, which is great but not for everyone.

Have you considered online courses like these?
    http://www.animsquad.com/
    http://www.ianimate.net/
    http://www.animationmentor.com/?utm_expid=48683895-13.8YrShHK3R_2ac2swO-4aeQ.0

I personally have done Animation mentor course and it is really great!
Ask me any questions about that if you would like?

    Kind regards,
    Terry
