    Hi All,

Complete beginner to photography but something I've wanted to start doing for a while now. The honeymoon is coming up in a few weeks and we want to get a quality camera to capture our travels, but also something i'd enjoy using and continue to want to use afterwards.

I had pretty much decided on the x20 (with my own minimal knowledge) but someone with a lot more knowledge than I has recommended the TZ60.

As we're travelling, the requirements are basic in that we need something compact. It being our honeymoon, the results need to be high quality.

Can someone here help with which is the best to go for?
Budget is anywhere up to €450/500 so feel free to recommend anything else.

    Thanks

I love Fuji colours so I'd go with the X20. I think it has a larger sensor than the TZ60 too.

but if you are not too interested in the Technical stuff the RX100 by Sony could be a very good option. It's regarded as an excellent camera and IS lovely and small for travel. Simple to use and beautiful photos.

But again I love the X20

If you haven't already made your mind up the TZ60 is a helluva compact camera.

Small compact body with 24-720mm zoom is an unbelievable engineering feat.

Wide angle lens and very good for close up macro shots.

Wifi tethering, GPS, Full HD video, viewfinder, manual focus ring... The list goes on.

I believe it comes with an extended warranty now too.

    Awesome.

    Thanks for the replies.
I went with the X20 and I am delighted I did (pixmania had a good reduction so got a great deal also). I'm teaching myself at the moment and I am astonished at some of the results. Muppet Killer mentioned the colours, they are amazing. The camera itself looks great, feels great and for a complete novice, I find the settings (the limited ones I'm using) pretty easy to navigate through.

Hopefully with a bit more practice over the coming weeks I'll be well up to speed for our travels.

If anyone knows of a good training doc or video online, a link would be greatly appreciated.
