Continuation from this thread old thread
I thought it would be best to start a new one people may get confused. Just to wrap up the last thread the car was practically sold for fairly good money then my dad decided to keep it.

I'm actually driving the car at the minute but I'm trying to get a figure for my parents of what it's worth. It's an ambiente 1.9tdi octavia mk2.
199k km on it now has it hasn't been used much in the last year. Good tyres all round Goodyears I think. It has the elegance alloys not wheel covers. Very clean no marks or anything wrong with it. It will be serviced at the weekend. Nct till sometime middle of next year.

I'll try and get a few better pics later but it's spotless inside and all that. Now the valuations varied a bit on the last thread and I know it's older now than it was.
Anyway what do people think we would actually get for it would I be way of at 4k euro. I know there's probably cheaper ones but most are seriously rough.

Here's a pic of the front for the moment just to give you an idea of the model. It's the blue one in that picture by the way :pac:

We may not even be selling it but good to do the research on it now while there's time. If we don't but it up in the next few weeks/ months it will be kept and ill drive it. It's a bit up in the air at the moment. Any ideas ? Thanks

I sold my 2005 Octavia in December for €4500. Details of the car are in the link below.

Mine was a higher spec and had lower mileage and I think I could have got closer to €5000 if I was prepared to wait around a bit longer but I wanted a quick sale. It sold within a few days. I would ask a little over 4k for yours and see how it goes for a week. There are plenty of cheaper Octavias on done deal but a lot of them are sheds so if you are not in a rush try it and see how you go.

This post has no use, but is it strange that I rather the look of that '05 over the '11? I think they look a nicer car.

I agree, the pre facelift does indeed look nicer Imo :)

Op, did you try and trade it yet, just to see what the offer was on it?

See it's all a bit up in the air at the moment as to what we are doing? But if buying a car out of a garage it may be worth trading it in all right. I'm only just trying to get a feeler as it may not even be sold yet. At least if I know roughly what we should get it will be make it easier if we go to sell it in. Months time. Obviously I'd like a newer higher spec car. But it's not the end of the world if I end up driving that octavia for a year or two as it needs nothing and is suprisingly comfortable and economical on long journeys which I do a lot of far better than the focus on diesel. I though they would be much closer but I'd say there's 8-10mpg in it.

If buying a car in a garage it would definitely be worth seeing what there offering. Thanks everyone for the help.

Everyone on here seems to say that :) I'm not really sure which I prefer on the outside. But inside it's definitely the 11 completely different place. The newer one is elegance spec with upgraded sat nav bluetooth radio. The sat nav display comes up on the maxi dot display between the clocks so you don't even have to look down at the radio. That car was a serious amount of car for the money at the time. I don't like the mk3 to expensive and the materials on the inside look cheaper than the mk2 not as nice at all IMO although most people prefer them.
