UPC services are supplied via their own dedicated cable that comes into your home.
You do not need to have a phone line to have UPC services.

i dont mean eircom phone cable, its just my phone cable is under my door so if upc work off phone cable they will have to take out my door (there not allowed to do that)

You dont need a phone cable of any sort to have any of the or all of UPC services installed.
If you want to have a phone with UPC they supply a cordless phone and the base for the phone connects into the modem that they supply.

UPC have their own wiring for everything. They stick a little box in you house with a wire going through a hole they drill into the wall. You can have it done without even having an eircom line into your house.

The phone service is a voip line and is carried on the same cabling as the tv. It will not work with old analog handsets. It will open work with digital phones most of which are cordless. So you will plug the phone in beside the tv etc ..or you can run a cable from there back to wherever you want a second phone socket if you dont have a multiple cordless phones and base...
