Alarm Box Buzzing!

My house has had an Astec Alarm since before we moved in.

Whenever we tried to use it, it went off so we stopped bothering.

But lately the alarm box inside the house keeps buzzing. (Sounds like an electrical buzzing). It's not the keypad but the bigger box beside the electricity box.

We tried to disconnect but as soon as the battery supply ran out the alarm went off.

    It's driving us crazy!

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks!

Its could be the transformer humming. If so try tightening the box to the wall more.
It could also be a faulty internal bell or a low battery. Are there any errors showing on the screen?

More than likely a faulty device on the system causing the false alarms in the first place. When you powered the system down and the battery dies the outside bell will ring for 20 minutes then switch off.
