Had a quick test drive today on a nice 05 focus, i noticed behind the clutch there
was a bar that you could see and feel if you but clutch all the down and had big shoes on. It was connected to steering wheel, just wondering is this normal ?
It was a good drive and was in great condition .

Probably better in motors ask mod to move but have a look and see if something is out of place. I don't think it's a problem but would have to see.

It's kind of hard to understand what you mean but I have size 12 feet and I have never had any problems using the clutch in my focus same model. And even at that I've often had steel cap toe boots on which are big and bulky at best and could drive focus fine where other cars I would struggle with. Or do you mean your foot is hitting of the bar connected to the steering wheel/ column?

This is normal, I can sometimes feel the steering shaft with my toes when I'm turning the wheel if my foot is not centrally on the pedal.
