An engine was brought for a van. The person that has the van borrowed the money for the buy the engine. They said person still owes money back for lending the money.

Does the person who lent the money actually owe the engjne

I'm guessing the person that lent the money, the engine is there property

Not really. The person owes the money, what good is the engine to the other guy anyway?

Not really a motoring topic tbh.

Sell it and get there money back?

Need a bit more detail. I don't think the lender is entitled to just take the engine but nor is he obliged to take it in settlement of the debt.
All this sounds like a pub/back of a napkin deal anyway, if it was a cu or bank loan, all this would be in the loan agreement.

I'm not too sure what you're saying in the OP but in short the person who borrowed the money own the engine.
He/she then owe money to someone else. The lender doesn't own anything, just the money that was lent out for something (in this case an engine).

Just because you lent someone money to buy something does not mean you own that property until the money is paid back.

The person that lent the money is only owed money. They don't own anything...

Without legal paperwork regarding the loan the lender of the money will simply receive a lesson in life not to lend money to said individual again.

Never mind who owes this, I'm still trying to figure out the OP to be honest. Brought where, who owes what, which now? Bit more detail Cena, otherwise it's a riddle.

The money was lent to the van owner. It's a used van and it needed a new engine at the time. They lent money to get a used engine for there van with the promise of paying back on there next pay day. That was beginning of December.

So yer man didn't pay back the money he borrowed? And now the lender wants to take the engine as the money is unrecoverable? Does the lender really want an engine? Do they intend to remove it themselves? Sounds unfeasible, to put it mildly.
Check in the small print of the contract the borrower signed to see what happens if there's a default. There isn't? Oh. Bummer.

I'm not a fan of grammar Nazism but maybe you should edit that OP because it's barely legible.
