    Hi!

I have applied to different universities and ITs to do a degree. I am not Irish so I like going to my home country on holidays. Could anyone tell me how do academic holidays work here? Are the same number of days of holidays in each college? how flexible are teachers about students missing days??

    Thanks!

They all have their own holidays, which differ. I don't think I can post links because I'm too new, but you should be able to find the calendar for each on its own website.
For example, UCC's is here (add www to the beginning): ucc.ie/en/registration/dates-procedures/termdates20132014/

And Trinity's is here (again add www): tcd.ie/calendar/academic-year/

Holidays are usually from June 1st to mid-August, although different universities and colleges may differ.

Missing days will also vary but beware most universities & colleges are really strict about it. The college I go to is pretty strict about missing days. After unexplained 5 missing days you're sent a warning letter and after 10 unexplained days you're asked to leave the course. The only way to get out of it is to have a valid doctor's note.
