How many of your friends live abroad?

I'm going to London next weekend, and was surprised at how many people I know are living there at the moment. So I decided to do a survey of my Facebook account out of a lack of motivation to do anything constructive.

I have around 330 friends on Facebook. Out of that, there are

    28 in Australia
    15 in England
    5 in Canada
    4 in New Zealand
    4 in USA
    2 in UAE
    1 in Qatar
    1 in Spain
    1 in Scotland
    1 in China

So just under 20% of my friends live abroad, which sounds about right.

EDIT: Ok, I used my Facebook "Friends" to give me a better cross section. I don't count them all as close friends. If you're only counting your close friends, of which you have 1, and they live abroad, then 100% of your friends live abroad!

Facebook friends are not real friends.

I don't have any real friends though, so none. :D

I'm waiting for the first post, that mentions 'my best friend' and 'my right/left hand' in one go :pac:

When my friends move abroad, I cut them out of my life forever.

Ah no, not really. I'm in the UK, as are three other good friends of mine. And one of my oldest friends is in Australia. Lots of acquaintances all over the world, but none that I would call good friends.

Real friends - I don't know how anybody counts friends using Facebook! - about 35 abroad but it's a tiny percentage of my total friends count.

I don't think I'd have time for more than 5 close friends.....

There's people I know from different social settings and I get on with them. I'd say they are my casual friends but not my friend friends.......I could ring them for a favour or to meet for a chat but they are not close friends...I'd have a good few of them. More acquaintances really rather than friends.
