I'm gonna paint the living room in a few weeks time and am interested in applying a faux finish. Having researched it there are a lot of methods and techniques out there, some cheap as chips and quick, other pricey and time consuming.
I'm wondering have other attempted a faux finish on their own (a pic would be great!) and also what are the easier methods for a novice ? Ragging and sponging seems straightforward enough, what about gilding, is it tricky ?
