Question on redundancy entitlement.

I was informed yesterday that I was being made redundant along with another 10 employees.

My understanding is that the statutory redundancy is 2 weeks for every year worked + 1 week.

Does anyone know if that (+1 week) is paid if the company itself pay more weeks than the statutory 2 weeks.

We are meant to receive 3 weeks pay for every year of service.

I also had booked 2 weeks annual leave due to commence after the closing date given yesterday, does anyone know if I will be paid for these also.

    Thank you.

It depends on how the offer is worded. If the offer is 3 weeks per year inclusive of statutory, then no.If something like one extra week per year extra, then maybe. You should be paid extra for holidays accrued(1.67 days/month).

statutory is 2 weeks wages per year capped @ 600per week so that's 1200 a year.

If you have ten years service then the statutory is 1200*10=12000+ 1 week so 12,600

As to the hols maybe they will pay you any due holidays in your last pay packet. Ask HR/payroll or you union rep (if any). Otherwise it might be a good idea to take them early.

more info here plus a calculator http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/unemployment_and_redundancy/redundancy/redundancy_payments.html

So if they offer 3 weeks and say your wages are 650 a week you would get 650*3*10 to give 19,500 (assuming as vandriver above says the offer is 3 weeks inclusive of statutory, if not and its 3 weeks on top of statutory is would be more but it really depends on what the offer is.)
