I am looking for somewhere (typically honeymoonish!) to go that won't break the bank for a week. The Maldives etc are probably too costly My wedding is in the Algarve so I would hope to fly from there rather than go home first, but I suppose it depends on the flights.

I am thinking my Greece or Cyprus ( have never been to either). Any thoughts?

    Hi Sala,

Have you considered honeymooning in Portugal, seeing as you will already be there. There must be some beautiful places that you could go to. Do you prefer staying in a hotel where you have service & amenities or do you prefer the privacy of your own place such as renting a house or villa. I nearly always go for the latter.

Had a nice holiday in Malta. Stayed in the Cavalieri Hotel in St. Julians. Really nice

Thnak, I will be in Portugal for over a week. I just figured for week 2 we might go somewhere else, but it no doubt is the most economical option

You can get SkyScanner to search for flights departing from a particular airport & by leaving the destination blank, you can see where you can fly to. If you click on this link and at the top, make sure that only direct flights are ticked (i.e. untick the 1+ stops flights), you can see where you can get to from Faro with just one flight.

I would say your best options for a reasonably priced direct flight to a honeymoon destination would be Majorca or Nice / Marseilles for Provence / Cote D'Azur.

IMHO, rather than spending time & money flying, I would probably still check out some nice honeymoon destinations in Portugal.

We spent ours in Croatia. Fantastic country and very reasonable pricewise as well.

That's absolutley brilliant, thanks! I couldn't figure out how to find out who goes where from Portugal
