brake pad question

Is it advisable to have a seperate set of brake pads for cosmic carbones sl and mavic kyrsiums? I race with the cosmics and train and do sportives with the kyrsiums? Someone i know suggested i should have a seperate set of pads for both wheels and change them over accordingly? Is that true?
