Gender car test

If you have time when youre out driving try and keep a count of who is the most polite
I recall a guy say once, if you open a womans car door and walk around the car and she doesnt open your door in return, its a bad sign

now when you go down a street and theres cars blocking the road and you wait to let cars through.....keep a mental count of who waves thanks and who doesnt.....

it would be interesting to see who is more polite in that situation when they think people arent watching them? men or women? this is a test that thankfully can be quantified regardless of political correctness, its taking each person on merit and seeing if there is a pattern between the sexes

And what would this knowledge gain us? The ability of one gender to pour new scorn on the other?

It's not really appropriate to discern any patterns from a test such as the one you described. The sampling mechanism you're using isn't very useful, nor is the classification technique.

Purely my observation but I find men in average 4+ year old cars most likely to let you out or join a queue ahead of them.

Least likely to let you out, and again purely my observation, younger ladies and notably driving Mini's.

Least polite is and always will be middle aged men in company cars.

someone keep a count who says thank you when you let them through, dont pretend youve got more important things to do...when youre stuck in traffic its usually mind numbingly dull

That car door thing came from a film, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

Has the NCT testing any influence on this maybe?

No.There's a black girl and a white boy in the final scenes of the film when it happens I think.

To be honest unless it is extremely busy I find it annoying when cars let you out. Most of the time it's free behind them so I'm prepared to go when they pass. So mostly looking behind them the other way to make sure it's safe to go once they pass. It actually causes longer to get out so I wont wave. If it's busy/you have a line of cars behind you it is completely different.

90% of woman drivers are useless in my experience.

Which is quite alright because 95% of men drivers are also useless in my experience.

Central locking is dead in mine, and the drivers door is currently in need of a replacement lock, so no... I need someone to open it once I've unlocked the passenger side!

I have to pass parked cars to get in or out of my street and often keep a note of who says thanks.

In my experience, it's about 80%.

80% of men say thank you, 80% of women don't.

If I was a betting man, and I am, I would bet that about 90% of mini drivers are young women. I would like to know why they buy those cars.
I would also like to congratulate the BMW marketing department for taking their Euros.
