Got a quote of €60 to replace the cpu cooling fan in my lenovo z580.

I previously thought the fan was just blocked up with dust even though its only 5-6 months old. Fan has become loose from its bracket and is causing a lot of noise. Apparently this wont damage the laptop just make noise?

Is your laptop still covered under the manufacturer's warranty for such things? They normally last one year from date of purchase. If so, it should cost nothing to repair at a Lenovo certified repair shop.

very simple to change, 60 is steep IMHO.fan removal about 2 mins into video

But I agree with getting it done under warranty.
