Apologies if this is the wrong forum.
Two weeks ago I received a phone call from a claims assessor informing me that they were going to settle my claim against the car that crashed into my Honda Civic.
The claim I was told was made FBD on my behalf.
I was shocked. I have my house insured with FBD but not my car.
    I don't own a Honda Civic.
I have never been involved in an accident.
In formed the lady and immediately contacted FBD.
I was told it was an error.
Then today I received a letter from FBD informing me my claim was being handled and I would be hearing from them shortly.
My question is what do I do now??
I have phoned them twice to alert them to the error...but it looks like the claim in my name is going ahead.
    I will welcome any advice.

Has your identity been stolen / compromised by a fraudster ?

Get back on to FBD and demand full details of the claimant who is allegedly supposed to be you ? Tell them that you have no claim against them and ask for the address given by the claimant.

If you do not get satisfactory replies IN WRITING contact the Gardaí and report it as suspected fraud.

As long as this matter shows you as a claimant you are probably on some insurance database too as being such.

My sincere appreciation for your kind reply. Yesterday I put it in the hands of the Fraud Squad. They were extremely interested in it.
