I'm a 21 year-old student living away from home. I was let go from my job back in November but I didn't sign on because I was still in part-time education[11 hours a week](Last september up until 2 weeks ago). Now I'm finished college for the year and was wondering how much I would be able to claim? I live in a rented flat but my landlord doesn't take rent allowance.

If your looking for and available for full time work and you don't have savings in excess of €20000 or any other significant income you might get €100 per week Allowance.
What is your employment history regarding PRSI? Might you quality for Benefit?

I currently have no savings other than €8 in my bank.

I worked a part-time job for 9 hours a week at 10€ an hour for almost 2 years.

Even if you had enough stamps for JSB your entitlement would only be €84.50 so you will be better off on JSA of €100

This is true. My rent is costing me 65 euro a week. Seeing as my landlord won't take RA is there any other support available out there?

No there's not. All you can do is look for somewhere cheaper, although it would be tough.
Or just find something ,cutting grass washing windows etc do up fliers pop them in letterboxes.

I shall indeed. A few friends have asked me about doing computer repairs so hopefully that will yield something. Thanks very much for all the info. It is greatly appreciated.
