Shimano Sora shifter repair?

    A buddy of mine has a problem with his Shimano Sora shifter. The small right thumb shifter to change up has broken completely with the bike now stuck in a very low gear :D. Is is possible to repair these shifters, or does he have to stump up for a new one? If a repair is possible, any pointers on doing that particular job?

    If the actual piece of plastic is broken off then a repair is unlikely. Take the chance and upgrade them to the newer shifters that don't have the little thumb plasitc for shifting down. You can get Shimano shifters on ebay for good money.

    i have a pair of Sora shifters (as well as some other sora bits) that I've been meaning to put onto the adverts section. I only got them about six months ago and they were used for about four months so they;re in very good condition. They're the 3400 i.e.with the thumb shifter. LH shifter is for triple but I think it can also be used on a double. Let me know if he can't get a repair and might be interested.

    Yeah the triple can be used on a double.
