    I'd have a good idea of what a few of them earn but most keep their cards to their chest.

    A couple of jobs ago, I was working somewhere and I earned more than most of the team. So I told everyone what I was on and let them take it up with the manager.

    I once found out a colleague (brown noser) was earning €12K more than me a year. So I just simply reduced my profit generation for the company accordingly.

    Yes, in my last job. My friend went to use the photocopier and found a page with everyone's salary info left in it! She had the presence of mind to make a copy before deserting the scene and denying having been anywhere near the photocopier when the Accounts Dragon realised and ran back to get her page.

    It was shocking- it was a tiny private company and as we'd always suspected, wage scales were based solely on how much the manager liked you personally!
