Do Ryanair query why you didn't show up?

    Hi all,

This is a bit of a bizarre question but my partner booked a flight for me with Ryanair but I won't be showing up for the flight or the return journey.

Will she get an e-mail/phonecall in regards to me not showing up? (the booking details all went through her e-mail etc)

Trying to surprise her, but if some e-mail ruins it I'll be gutted!

I did not on either occasion that I had to abandon trips.

It will be a surprise that you let her waste her money booking flight for you.

Ryanair don't care about you turning up or not.

You will get a Travel advice reminder about 7 days in advance and another email closer to the day reminding you that you haven't checked in online yet. That's it. No worries.

Edit: Actually, it will be be your partner's email as this was the one used in the booking.

maybe its a nasty surpise that the OP is planning - a break up by way of leaving her off on holidays on her own. :D

I've never gotten any correspondance from ryanair before flights apart from the one reminding me to check in online, so you should be good to go as long as you comply with everything bar turning up at the gate.

I skipped a Ryanair flight on Monday and never bothered checking in. I got a text the night before from Ryanair saying
One or more of your party has not checked in for Ryanair flight......
But I got no other emails or notifications after skipping the flights. Check in if you want to avoid that notification being sent out.

I've skipped Ryanair flights in the past with no follow up emails or contact.

Yes, it prevents them from selling the seat and making a fortune on it.

You can change the email address in the booking so the reminder notifications could be sent to your address instead of hers for example.

Checking in is bad practice, it can slow takeoff. Certainly it did back in the day.

And they can't sell a seat unless you cancel.

I thought that's why they scan your boarding card/ print out at security?

Not if you don't have hold luggage.
