Lengthening a short dress

Would you consider buying another and using a few inches of the lace as an extra tier or frill attached to the underlay? Alternatively you could try to find some matching silk or satin fabric and attach it to the bottom. Some wide ribbon might work if you don't want to lengthen it very much.

Rather than have a different fabric stuck on the bottom, consider cutting off the bottom 4inches or so and insetting a band of complementary fabric. If you could get jersey in the same shade as the underlay it might work well. Or if you can get a similar lace in black (loads of black lace out there) this might work for this as a contrast. Other than that you could just wear it as a tunic with good quality leggings or opaque tights.

    Beautiful dress. Enviious!
I would recommend opting for a contrast black lace and sewing it underneath.
