Basically when browsing the web pages are bit slower to go from. Also when watching video from youtube etc there is lag and cant watch video properly.

I have feeling its a virus. Just wondering if I can do anything to speed it up with software etc. Free would be ideal.

My Laptop is a Avent 6552 make. 3072mb and hard drive is 250gb if that helps.

    Thanks in advance.

Malware bytes is a great anti virus to use on your laptop . It can get some of the worst viruses off a laptop .
I would also tell you to defrag the hard drive . If you haven't done this for a while it can kill performance .
Also clean the temp files too . Click the windows button and type in %temp% . Go into the folder select everything and delete .

I would also recommend sitting down and uninstalling any software you don't need off the laptop too .

ccleaner is another free software that can help clear out unnecessary junk like temp files. It also has a registry cleaner which can also help matters.

Could also be a lot of un-needed processes running in the background, these will impact performance.

Hit start and type msconfig, have a look at the startup tab, and remove any non-microsoft items you feel you dont need to kick in automatically on boot.
