Round bale feeder for sheep

For those that have these how do they fare with horned sheep for using them, there seems to be a lot of silage tramped the way we are feeding currently

With ours, the sheep don't have to put their head into it - so it makes no difference if they have horns at all. Ours is similar to the pic:

Use one of them for mine and no problems. It's sheeted at the top third as well

one of those would be a good job, only having a front loader may be necessary, going from those that I seen using them having difficulty putting bales into them.

intend to buy one as jt65 has shown, €140 in local co-op

I have a few ring feeders. The only setback is the round bale is fairly snug when you first put it in. Can be a bit awkward to close if the bale starts falling apart before you get it closed.
Other then that they are a fine lifetime job being galvanised.
I'd say the basket ones are very good also but were abit too expensive when I was looking to buy as I needed a few I'd them . I think they were around 300 each

Thanks, i bought the round one that is just placed around the bale on the ground, yes it is fairly tight when closed around bale,
find it a good job, getting better last from a bale with it, should have got it earlier on in year
