My a6 1.9tdi 130bhp final edition is acting up a bit lately, approximately 35 minutes into driving time it can suddenly loose power and sometimes bring on the engine management light. on a journey of about 150 miles recently to get home I had to disconnect the air flow meter to have enough of power to make the trip on the advice of a mechanic I rang. Replacement of the meter has not sorted the problem, the actuator on the egr seems really free cant hear any unruly noises from the turbo and the engine uses no oil even though it has close on 180k miles up. Most of my journeys are less than 30 mins and the car is like a racehorse for these trips, the engine management light usually goes out on the next short trip. any ideas ?

Is engine management light staying on?
    what year is the car?
have you got the ecu scanned for fault codes?

If not, this action might saying you ding a lot of guessing. Post the county your in and someone here might be able to do it for you.

A lot of people here appear to have code readers for VAG cars

Get the fault codes read, as above!
Fault codes are your friend and tell you what's wrong with your car.
Otherwise you're just easter-egging, i.e. randomly replacing parts in the hope to replace the faulty one by pure chance.

thanks folks, got it scanned and the error is 17965p (157 35 00) which indicates charge pressure control , will be getting it checked for split hoses and n75 valve during the week, and hopefully its not a sticking turbo.
