Switch speedo clock Mondeo Miles to KM?

I'm likely to purchase a 2004 mondeo tomorrow. Its a zetec model. If I do buy it, can I swap the speedo, which is currently in miles, to a 2005 one, which reads in kilometres? Call me fussy, but it's just a preference. I assume, if it is possible, that the actual mileage will stay with the car and not with the speedo unit.

If this cannot be done, is there a kit available for the mondeo to swap from miles to klms?

You should be able to get an overlay for the speedo.

As far as i know it cant be done because your abs and powertrain control module are callibrated in miles.

also you would need to reprogramme keys because the imobaliser is stored in the clocks.

you could probobly get a new fascia for your own clocks in kms but your odometer will still read miles.

hmmmm. I have heard that there is a way to switch the digital read out from miles to klms using the buttons on the speedo and the indicator stalk. I would be happy with an overlay, if it didn't block out the light. Something like an el dial glow kit perhaps.

Put a set of clocks in sure and see you will be very dissapointed.

If, as you have said, the clocks are not really interchangeable easily, I would not be switching them around. I would maybe look into changing the digital odo into klms if I managed to find a suitable replacement fascia, or glow dial kit similar to what I have in my fto, which sits comfortably into the speedo unit.

If anyone knows where I could find a replacement fascia, I would appreciate the heads up.
