One popped up in my tracker last night was Street Party 2.30 Wexford. Ex flat horse who was rated 74 in that sphere, thought he ran a blinder in his first try over obstacles, jumping well in the main. Looked like he was out for the spin that day & finished the race off really well without troubling the winner wicklow brave who went on to run well in the supreme last week. Off for the last 70 days odd, hard to know if he'll be given a few more spins to get a handicap mark but there has been a few nibbles this morning at 8's so I'm going to have a punt in the hope he's going for it. Obvious dangers are Ashjar & Shutter Island. Still some 7's available & worth an each way play in this small field.

Sardinia was one I was interested in but he may want further, smashed Waaheb and Katie T in a 2 mile flat maiden is very strong form.

Backed one horse today at a huge price, Josie S and B at Wexford at 40/1. Caught the eye in a couple of maidens and I think she wants a sharp two miles, she ran better than the two results suggest in handicaps and may have done too much from the front. May be a good back to lay (travels strongly)

Think Balmont Flyer in the first at DownRoyal is a very nice price at 33/1. Won't win, but I think it has a very decent EW chance.

As I thought, touched 3/1 in the run and finished out of the places. Might have gone off a bit too fast

Unbelievable finish with the leader going down and them badly hampering Sardinia and Ashjar and then Shutter Island finishing like a train! Crazy finish would have been interesting watching the online betting in that one

There were some horrific rides at Down Royal today. I have no idea what Paul Carberry was doing on Bog Warrior, horse was jumping a bit left handed, but he had no business trying to make all on Bog Warrior. Barry Cash gave Mr Cosmopolitan another stinker, horse looked the best travelling out of any but still managed to get it beat. I suppose that is why he is 0 from 47 at Down Royal. The ride on James was definitely the worst of the day. Three fences out, James was the only horse that wasn't having lumps knocked out of it.

De Bromhead's bumper horse at the end was definite the class act. Watched it lto when it hated the heavy ground. Wonder will they consider it for Punches town, assuming the ground will be suitable.

Heard he won as easy as anything. Delighted by the news and hopefully that puts him spot on for Aintree.

Is he really going to the national? Would he be good enough?

That aside I can't believe aintree is only 2 weeks away..very quick this year.

My strategy this year is, review form, find all plots identify the best horses in each race and draw a like through them...then pick anything that hasn't gone to Cheltenham at a large price :-) with a pinch of salt of course

Also I think Xaarcet in the last at Exeter could be laid out for tomorrow's race. Isn't really proven on the ground but is proven at the track. Given the last few runs were over an extended distance I think we could probably disregard them

Was going well in clear 2nd place until tipped up about 5 out. Not sure he would have troubled the first two home but it looked like they were going for it today. Not sure he'll get an easier opportunity than today though.

Roll on aintree. Cannot wait. Might even take the Friday off and watch it in peace without work interrupting my day.

Somehow it has landed coincidentally when I'm on holidays in Lanzarote with the little man for the first time. Luckily for me my Missus, her mam and bro are coming..probably will
Manage to escape for a few to watch the racing..all 3 days of it;-)
