correct procedure when chsnging up and down gear

    Car seems to jerk a bit when bringinr foot off clutch after changing up gear and a little when changing down ...should my foot be on the gas when changing up and down gear and on brake when changine down

    Sounds like you are probably bringing the clutch up too quickly. As you start to release it count 1-2-3 by the time you reach 3 you should be off the pedal.

    Also, I'd like to bet you are sat too close to the wheel. This often is the cause of the clutch coming up too fast.
    Slide the base of the seat back so that when you push the clutch in you're stretching somewhat. Not over stretching but extending your leg fully. When doing so make sure you're pressing the pedal with your toes, not the ball of your foot or arch. Again this will help you to extend you leg. You might need to roll the back of the seat forward to support the small of your back and help you extend your leg fully without having to over stretch.

    In my experience doing this fixes 95% of clutch problems.

    To answer your question specifically off the gas with going up gears and generally continuing to brake during a gear change down
