Driver Face Angle

The last week or so I've been struggling a wee bit with face angle on my Xhot Pro driver. The crown in a matte grey with no markings so not help there. I'm thinking of spraying a small stencil of the callaway tick to help with alignment.

But that's not the reason for the thread,

Why do nearly all drivers look closed at address from the business end of the stick when pointing neutral?
I've noticed that if you stand looking down the line (face to face) the club angle looks spot on yet the players view it looks closed to target.

Is it something to do with off set or a problem with adjustable drivers?

I don't think i have ever noticed this. I always just look at the face angle, rest of it doesn't bother me.

I mean target line ¬ face angle. Where I'm standing in relation to the ball, can make it look funny, but its irrelevant, its only the target line that matters..

If it's an adjustable driver, then I wouldn't trust that the adaptor may say neutral but the face could in reality be 2' closed. Just like the loft marking bear little resemblence to what loft the face actually is.

Ball position will effect how closed or open the face looks too don't forget.

If you have the ball fairly far forward and don't tilt your spine away from target ie lean to the right enough you will be prone to open your shoulders relative to your feet.

In this position your driver will look way more closed.

Hard to explain this via text only but you guys should get what I'm saying.

Yes the driver face should look a bit closed from your position. However a lot of drivers have a closed face which is something I hate.

I understand what your saying. For me, looking at the club at address it looks like this angle just not as severe " \ " while from the other side is looks like " | "

Its odd enough, I know my brothers Xhot non pro driver looks very closed at address but looks straight from the other side aswell

The reason Titleist changed their sales pitch for their 910's ....

'Open / closed' is the way the golfer sets up the clubface relative to the target line.
You can't buy a driver with a closed face.

Unless you are comparing to the grip markings of course, but nobody does that really ??

Relative to the shaft that's attached to the head, it definitely can be closed.
A huge amount of drivers are set up closed, callaway's were usually closed, cant speak of the newer callaways.
