cropping with windows

    Can someone explain why when you crop in windows -right click /edit/crop- sometimes it increases the picture so that it fills the frame but some crops only leave a large white space around the frame of the picture.

    It is when you do a custom crop cropping a lot as far as i can see.

    Crop a little and the picture increases to fill frame and crop a lot and there is just a narrow strip of picture with white space surrounding it
