Short but very hard final stage of Paris-Nice. Bad news is Geraint Thomas is definitely out after crashing hard yesterday. Nevertheless, should be some great racing today. Good chance of another breakaway sticking. Col D'Eze will be very familiar to all these riders, which is good considering the finish comes after its descent.

Carlos Betancur goes into the stage with the yellow jersey but still has a lot to do, Rui Costa is breathing down his neck at 14 seconds behind. Lots of other good descenders in the GC top 10, although if it comes to a sprint then Betancur will be comfortable.

    General Classification after Stage 7
COL 1 BETANCUR GOMEZ, Carlos Alberto (AG2R LA MONDIALE) 32:04:49
POR 2 FARIA DA COSTA, Rui Alberto (LAMPRE - MERIDA) + 14
    CZE 3 STYBAR, Zdenek (OMEGA PHARMA - QUICK-STEP) + 26
ESP 4 ROJAS GIL, Jose Joaquin (MOVISTAR) + 27
    DEN 5 FUGLSANG, Jakob (ASTANA) + 29
    FRA 6 VICHOT, Arthur (FDJ.fr) + 31
    FRA 7 GAUTIER, Cyril (EUROPCAR) + 35
AUT 8 DENIFL, Stefan (IAM CYCLING)
SVK 9 VELITS, Peter (BMC RACING) + 39
    SLO 10 SPILAK, Simon (KATUSHA)

Stage will finish at roughly 4.10 pm

And we're live - 15 have abandoned today. Almost all together, there were 2 breaks earlier but now it's just Trofimov on his own out in front.

Started climbing Col D'Eze, loads of riders falling out the back, including Andy Schleck.

Rui Costa skulking around the front. Trofimov is caught, we'll see some attacks starting soon.

Nibali dropped, poor showing from him.

Spilak (!) and Frank Schleck doing well, Spilak has gained 2 seconds in the intermediate sprint. They need to catch him

This'll absolutely come down to the wire, Betancur's wrecked

Costa crashed 500m from the line, awful luck.

Frank Schleck barely missed out on the stage win, looked in fantastic shape. Artur Vichot wins the final stage

Delighted for Betancur, big big win for him. Bad enough crash for Costa, staying down for a long time.
