Bryan Cooper was flown to Frenchay hospital[specialist in serious injuries]where he had skin grafts to replace lost tissue due to multiple compound fractures.Surgeon to the Turf club Adrian McGoldrick described the injuries"the worst I have ever seen".There is little or no chance of Bryan riding at next years meeting and the hope is he will be able to return to the saddle.Ruby Walsh sustained a compound fracture and was described by Ted as the worst he has ever had and the fears are that he will not ride this calander year.Daryl Jacob has had more screws inserted than would be found in a Mechano box after he broke his leg, elbow and knee.Im sure everyone here wishes them a speedy recovery in particular Bryan Cooper. We have all complained about rides some jockeys give horses but an armchair jockey will never get injured.

My god Bryan Coopers injury sounds much worse than I had thought it was. These guys are mad to do what they do.

Some horrific injuries this year, Jacobs was nearly surreal the way it happened and the crowd were lucky the horse didnt bolt when trying to get up. Once again it puts the racing game into perspective seein guys like this get serious injuries doing there job and for our entertainment.

    Wishing all speedy recoveries.

They sound horrific, don't think I can ever remember such serious injuries at a meeting. That said they can at least take some comfort knowing it could be a whole lot worse when you think of what happened to JT at the same meeting last year

There were a lot of point-to-point riders injured last weekend, quite a few suffering fractures. It really wasn't a good week for injuries.
