Any decent place to get a cracked screen repaired for a nexus 4. I brought it into GSM Solutions in the city centre, but they are awful slow. Been waiting for 2 weeks now for parts.

They said it would be 150 euro to repair. Not sure of any reputable places that will replace it with a decent screen. I'm just planning of collecting the phone and bring it somewhere else. Getting tired at this stage of hearing the same message

It doesnt take 2 weeks to order parts unless they come from china.

Also €150 is pretty expensive, you could do it yourself for around €60 if you had the knowledge, its not that difficult.

I know. Just not in the mood for DIY. It's for my missus, she'd be wrecking my head if I failed :)

the chances of messing it up are pretty small, especially with all the guides out there and you'd save yourself a good bit of money !!

Gsm solutions is the Dodgiest repair shop in Dublin. They have a reputation for dodgy repairs and ripping off people. Search this site for more info!. Demand your nexus back !

I fixed mobile phones for a couple of years, as fixes go that one above looks fairly do-able imo....

105 euro for the screen. 150 to fix it doesn't sound too bad then. GF cracked the top of her screen. The screen isn't damaged much at all but the touchscreen doesn't work. Anyone got any recommendations where to get it fixed? I think I would be well able to do it but for 45 euro extra and the fact it isn't mine, I might be best going to a shop.

Wouldn't be too bad, but taking them ages to get it done. I'll wait out till Thursday. If they don't have it back by then just take it back and go somewhere else.

Keep me updated please. If I attempt the repair I will post up here. From looking online the first thing I need to do is to see if the LCD is actually fine or not. If the glass and digitizer is broke and not the LCD then it could be a good lot cheaper. The fact the screen will come on, leads me to believe the LCD is fine.

************ would not be paying 105e euro for the screen .They are buying the cheapest replica screens from China that cost next to nothing, hence the 3 weeks wait time for "delivery" of parts . All the products from their phone accessories store are the cheapest stuff from China.

The owner of the shop is a fraud . He was investigated by a Sunday newspaper for buying and selling stolen phones. I made the DREADFUL mistake of using this guy before. End result bricked ipod and a devious attempt to cover up their incompetence.

There is a 5 page thread on the Apple forum for repair shops, which might point you in the right direction

Well...I meant a more reputable shop would still be around 150 euro anyway.

Missus got the phone back yesterday. 150 yo yo's as promised. Wasnt there to ask any question, but the screen seems to be just as good as the previous one.

Phone returned in the same condition as left, they didnt wipe the data through.
Bit weird considering MPRC would have always wiped data regardless of the type of repair.
