MKV Golf - CV Boot NCT Failure

    Hello All,

Failed NCT earlier this morning with nearside CV boot. Its a 2006 MKV GTI and need to get it replaced and retested in next month. Had actually expected the front bushing to fail but they were fine.

Anyone recommend a good indy on Dublin southside to do this, and maybe other general VW servicing and stuff in future? Or would it be a simple enough job to maybe get a Kwikfit, Atlas, Discount Tyres etc to do it?

Also, any ideas what kind of price I should be expecting to pay per side? Can see kit on micksgarage for ~€25 but I know labour is the big thing on this.

Had the car serviced, by VW garage, a few weeks back and they highlighted bushing but said nothing of CV boot:rolleyes:

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Paddy

I'd give it to discount tyres before atlas or kwikfit, they did a cv boot for me a few weeks ago on a tt.

Thanks Neilw, can I check how much you paid to have it done?
