The Shield

So I'm an old school wrestling fan. I kind of follow the product on boards (because I'm irish) and other sites like 411(through habit I guess), pretty much only watch Wrestlemania and have only seen a little of The Shield. So I ask. What's the big deal about them? I feel like I'm genuinely missing something by not watching their rise and their gimmick. Can anyone recommend any matches or angles in particular I can check out that would be worthwhile?

You've missed an awful lot of good. This is my personal favourite but they've done a lot of great stuff.

You should watch both of their matches v the Wyatts but you'd have to find those yourself.

I thought they were only ok, but their match against the wyatts recently at hell in the cell caught my off guard and they were brilliant. Both factions were brilliant in that match.
