Recently started using Freesat as an alternative to Sky, and it appears that some channels are considerably weaker(at the receiver) than others. Are they transmitted this way or should I suspect my setup? BBC signal strength/quality is 10/10 respectively whereas Vintage TV is only 9/3:confused:.

Channels such as Vintage are on a satellite called Eutelsat which is actually at 28.5°E compared to 28.2°E for the main Freesat / Sky channels. Although Eutelsat is a weaker signal, a properly aligned dish should not give any problems. People sometimes make the mistake of aligning purely on the 28.2° signals at the detriment of 28.5° ones.

All the channels on Eutelsat will be moving to the Astra satellites later this year - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=88956139
