whatsapp for tablet

Im loooking for an old apk file 2.8 or earlier to set up my samsung tab 2 with whatsapp. The latest android one will not load to the tab, so i will load it on a laptop and transfer it to the tab. So i can use it in wifi mode, will use a mobile number.

What's app requires an active sim / Mobile network connection as far as I know. You may want to wait for Facebook intragration to use on a tablet

Viber works with out a sim as long as you have it already on a phone.

As for the apk, I'd say Google is your friend!!

I have WhatsApp working grand on my Nexus 7, I just downloaded the apk, installed it, sent a text message to my other number to verify it, wait for the text and it worked!
