Camping in France ~ Bedlinen hire Yay or Nay?

We are going to a campsite in France for the first time ever, and we have the option of hiring bed linen or bringing our own.

We will be driving, and could bring linen with us but I am unsure what to bring and how much, would it just be easier to hire it out.

    What has your experience been?

It depends on the campsite. Sometimes the bedlinen is lovely quality, sometimes it is made of the same fabric as J-cloths.

If you say what campsite you are going to, you might get some specific advice.

Have you booked with Eurocamp or similar or directly with the campsite ?

I always keep a stash of worn out linen for these trips & just bin before return trip.

I know last year keycamp/eurocamp was
€15 euro for single sheets and 22€ for double.
With 3 kids that's nearly 70 quid on sheets! That yon give back, not a hope would I pay it. Yeah it's handy but they only leave the sheets on the bed you still have to make your own bed, so I'd say If your driving bring the., they don't take up that much room like.

Either bring your own or buy some in a supermarket on your way to the site and just leave them behind so you have plenty of room for wine :)

    Thanks for the tips!

What would I need to bring

    pillowcases
    Duvet covers
    sheets?

Fitted sheets, flat sheets and pillow cases should be plenty if its summertime. Wouldn't bother with duvet covers- you won't need a quilt.

I would bring a duvet cover rather than a top sheet. If where you are has a chilly night, you can put the cover on the duvet, otherwise use the cover as a top sheet.

So I'd need sheet per person and a duvet cover per person/couple?

Will your mobile home be heated? I'd still buy them en route in Carrefour, Autan etc. Plenty of hypermarkets in France. Enjoy :)

MammaZita, I don't remember if it is heated or not

I think most have gas heating? Not sure as we have a motorhome so haven't stayed in mobile homes. Make room for plenty of wine coming home :)

Buy locally on the way down: http://www.decathlon.fr/sac-de-couchage-camping-15-id_8242834.html#Avis_utilisateurs They pack up small, can be zipped together to make a cosy double, washable and the kids get a kick out them.

Bring your own. We went last yr for 1st time with 1 toddler and a baby. They don't take up much rm and at least your sure of the quality and cleanliness. Brought a summer duvet for ourselves cause nights do get cold and the rms don't have heating in the mobile homes. Going this yr again and will be doing the same.

It's expensive enough so if you have room bring your own.

An interesting point is that Kellair, the Irish company supply it free. We travelled with them once and it was mighty handy.
