You could get a cheap Ryanair flight and carry it personally.

You might be stuck with it or one of the larger couriers perhaps.

Wrap it and tell An Post "please ship this, this is not a battery"?

You need to find two nightclub dancers to smuggle it over in a suitcase for you.

I wont be stuck with it, I'll just post it from Newry, Royal Mail allow battery's once they're in original packaging, eh I think.... Anyway just highlighting a point. Ridiculous rule by An Post! Thanks for the help anyway.

Hi the International Civil Aviation Organization classed them as dangerous goods. Yet they let you use laptops on the plane they are still a fire risk.
    UK the same...
    http://www.postoffice.co.uk/prohibited-goods-UK

    Just reading..
batteries must be packed in strong rigid packaging and must be secured against
movement within the outer packaging and packed to prevent accidental activation.?

So how come we can't send them?

    Was it posted to you?

I didn't know about that rule with An Post. My laptop battery is getting a bit rubbish now and doesn't hold a charge for very long. If I buy one online will I have to get it special delivery?

Stick a watch and a couple of lengths of wire to it and tell them it's a bomb....problem solved.

Unless they don't ship watches or wire.
