    Hi all,

I stopped smoking on Monday and got myself an Ego Vision V2 today. Excited to use it I filled it with "John Player Blue" blend and gave it a go. Taste is nice and no issues with that except that it feels like I'm swallowing a cactus, my throat is being ripped apart. Its only the 12mg liquid ( I also bought various others from 6-18 ) but didn't give them a go yet. Is this the norm when switching over or what?

    Thanks
    Scott

Slow drag, mouth-to-lung inhale should soften it right up.

    See TheDoc, see?

That's and odd one at that strength.
The juice you have is likely 80/20 PG/VG, finding a juice that's 50/50 or higher toward VG will help to sooth it. The more VG the less throathit.

Can you link me to a site where I can buy such juice ? .. I went looking on a few and its either not mentioned or else 80/20

Could be the jpb juice. I found the throath hit on Some of the cheaper liquids rough. How heavy a smoker were you?

I smoked about 15-20 John player blue a day, add quite some more if I was out on the town fri/sat.

e-smokeireland.eu and vaporium.eu have the widest selections of 50/50 or higher-VG juices but due to an unfortunate oversight on both their ends few of the liquids mention the ratio [tsk tsk you guyzzzz].
You should email both for a definitive list of 50/50 and high VG juices.
And then share the results here so we'll all know.

Oh, thats unusual, Is it just in the mornings its rough on the throath or all day?
As grindle said try a juice with higher vg. Vg is glycerene, its quite thick an syrupy, so as you can imagine its not gona be as hard on the throath than a thinner more watery like pg juice. Also try a different flavour. Something that sounds like it be smoother on your throath like, custard, vanilla, banoffi, . . Any thing creamy.
Also quick heads up, although the nic level usually is what people say determine the strength of the throath hit, certain flavours have a rougher edge to them than others. Menthol liquids tend to give a good thump in the throath so watch out for that..
Im not long around myself, just 9 or 10 weeks so this is all based on my experiences, some others might disagree or have better advice.
Stick with it though, its a heck of alot better than smoking and the people on here are really Helpfull and down to earth

I only received it this morning but every drag off it is burning my throat way too much , that alone is putting me off using the thing :( I do have a bottle of Irish Cream ( smells like Baileys ) that I could try out. I have been looking at Moms and Pops liquids which are all 50/50 so might pick 1 up and see if thats the issue.

Mount baker vapor let you specificly pick the ratio. I ordered recently and had the stuff in about 8 days. I think alot of there liquids may need steeping though as its made to order??

I was vaping that irish cream a good bit last month. I quite enjoyed it.

I found the first week after I switched to vaping exclusively my throat was very sore on and off. I agree with looking into a different juice and VG/PG ratio, also the way you are vaping. I figured out after that first week I was treating my kit like a cigarette and basically going to hard on it, straight to lung inhale and out again, if that makes any sense, so I wasn't tasting the juice much and tearing the throat off myself in the process. It takes a while to get used to after a long time smoking, but fair play and I hope you find something that works well for you! :D

If the liquids you have are all wicked ejuice try a new vendor. I noticed with some liquids i bought off them that they were a bit old and were quite dark like they were going off. Also i was getting a strong taste of nicotine and tingle in the back of my throath. Check the best before date. If its 2015 like mine were i think theres every chance your juice could be over a year old. That could be a major factor in what you are experiencing

All bests before 2015, Im quite enjoying the taste of the Irish Cream only for the throat being destroyed. Ill purchase some from diff vendors and see how it goes. It can only be trial and error I say.
