    Hi all,

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge as to the fuel ecomony of the new Audi A6 S line 2.0 TDI? I am looking at purchasing one (132) and the various reviews i have read say they have pretty good economy.

The dealer and Audi website both say the same thing saying you can you can get a combined mpg (urban & extra urban) of 57.6mpg. I fully appreciate that is an exagerated figure but a friend of mine in the UK tells me he gets about 35mpg out of his A6 (same model). Thats a pretty big gap so I'm wondering where in between the truth lies.

    Thanks

i have put 28000km on mine in the last 18 months and it says I am getting 42/43mpg for that distance. Thats city driving 5 days a week and motorway driving 2 days, most weeks. Mines a 177hp 2012 model though. 80kph on the motorway and I can get up to high 50s and into 60s. Best ever was a tired Sunday, driving back from galway, cruise control on and reset it as I entered motorway. For the 2 hr motorway portion at 90kph on the cruise control it told me I did 63mpg.

Motorway all the way home @120kph for 73km and I get 48mpg.

BTW dont get an s-line if you can help it...the lowered body makes me sad every time I am on a bad road!

    Thanks Osi

He does a mixture of City and motorway driving and has a slightly (not massively) heavy foot. He tells me he gets between 450 and 500 miles out of a 65 litre tank which equates to 35mpg

Great info whomitconcerns, just what i was looking for thank you. Cant promise i'll take your advice on the S Line though. I really like it and have found one in the UK that is really nicely specced at a great price too. Should save myself min €5k compared with buying it here

    I tried a 12 model as I was considering one It was a 2.0 tdi s line.
Anyway over the short period I had it, it drank diesel. Now I was giving it full pedal alot of the time but i wasnt doing short journeys. I got just over 35 mpg out of it.
In relation to the S line, it really is a terrible drive on uneven roads - not so much comfort wise but steering feel etc
just to compare, i get about 30 mpg or alittle under in my 1.8Tfsi A5 driving similarly
