Guys does anyone know if there is a proper course I can do in Photoshop and Lightroom in Dublin? I’m looking for something specifically for photographers. I’d preferably like a course for a few hours over a number of weeks – rather than an intense one day thing as there is only so much you can learn.

I’m trying to teach myself bits and bobs via youtube tutorials but really I’d prefer an actually course – or for someone to sit down and teach me. Do any such courses exist does anyone know?

There are some brilliant tutorials on Creativelive.com

You will pay for it, but some great stuff. They recently had a whole week of Photoshop/Lightroom.

I'm doing the 6 month course in http://www.instituteofphotography.ie/courses/ Zascar, worth a look at their PS & LR courses at the very least.

Creative Live have an advanced Light room course coming up soon, I really liked this guys stuff during the Photoshop week so I will be watching. It is free to watch live, you only have to pay if you want to download the video afterwards.

The Creative Live Jared Platt lightroom course is very good and extremely comprehensive, however it is 3 full days of live streaming if you want to watch it free! Also, because it's US time it means it starts at 5pm (Irish time) if memory serves and runs till midnight for the three days Irish time. I may have a downloaded version of the three days somewhere..

I got this book a while ago, it's massive and very specific to photography. It ignores a lot of photoshop features like type that are irrelevent to photography.

iact have some online courses. first 7 days are free so could sign up and cancel if you wanted. I'm doing some of their on line courses in excel, word and i like that the person talking is irish. it's much easier to listen to somebody with the same accent at yourself so i like the courses because of that

Also lynda.com - Lightroom, Photoshop and lots of photography associated tutorials.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but check out Scott Kelby on YouTube. also Serge Ramelli. There's loads more and you'll learn more there in your own time than in a typical course (graphic design course grad here).

I've learned loads about Elements 11 (and PS and Bridge) having done some Lynda courses. Well worth a couple of months subscription.

I'm a big fan of Lynda.com too, but it's not what the OP asked for. :D
