Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I will go for it anyway. I was wondering what the story with posting a link to a petition is on Boards. I know someone who recently did this and was banned. Was that a once off or is this just general policy?

Ask the mods of the forum in question first for permission.

In general its a discussion site, sticking up a link to a petition is by definition only appealing to one side of a debate and therefore doesn't really add anything to discussion.
