Wexford Bus (the company Wexford Bus, not Bus Éireann) have an offer right now where they'll do a €9 student single (I'm assuming you're a student) to Dublin City if you have a student Leap Card, or €14.50 student price with no Leapcard. Then you could walk a short distance to Westmoreland Street and get Dublin Coach which stops right into UL for €10 (fixed price, doesn't matter if you've a leapcard). That's the cheapest way I can think of, because student singles from Wexford to Dublin and then Dublin to Limerick are both €16.80, so you're paying €33.60 plus Luas fare (it's at least a 40 min walk between Connolly and Heuston) and bus fare from Limerick city to UL, in comparison to €24.50 at most for the Wexford Bus + Dublin Coach option.
    Hope this helps :)

I should have mentioned that I'm not a student.

I looked at both bus eireann and the train they're both 40Euro.

If I were to take the train I would have be late by 15min thats if they leave learly with Bus Eireann I'll be on time.

I haven't looked into the waterford route yet but will do so.

It's not possible to get to Limerick via Waterford with Bus Eireann that early - the first buses from Wexford miss the connection at Waterford.

You'll need to go via Dublin.

Bus Eireann is €19 one way or €38 return (€33.72 same day return) - you can buy a through ticket.

Wexford Bus is €17 single (€23 return) to Dublin, and Dublin Coach is then another €10 one way or €20 return.

Day of the week may make changes to what connections are available.

If this is an exam or graduation, consider travelling the night before.
