Should've posted this when I got home yesterday. Just remembered it.
After hunting yesterday I spotted some prints in a drain. They were about inch wide with 5 toes. It was on cow sh1te dumped in the drain and very easy to sink so whatever it was was very light as it didn't sink.
I'm thinking stoat. And I'm only askin as stoats have never been seen here. Farmer has never seen one and he was born there 60 year ago.
The 5 toes has me thinkin stoat.

5 toes on rear feet are very common. Otter, rat, squirrel and many others. The size spacing etc would be a bit of a guide. It's hard to tell.

    Five on all toes though.
They were about 3 inches apart on front paws.

When you say 3 inches apart do you mean between the toes or the whole pad size?

Sounds like mink to me! Track being an inch wide its a bit big for stoat and small for otter in my opinion! Squirrel hind leg usually leaves a very long print in soft material! Love to see a photo!
