Retro ice creams

For some reason I got to thinking about retro ice creams! Two that stand out are Sky, a kind of aero like chocolate ice cream bar with a blue wrapper. I remember it from the early '90s, then it disappeared.

The next one is a bonanza, it was in a gold wrapper, had nuts and caramel in it IIRC. It was gorgeous!

    Anyone got any others?

There is a bunch of wrappers including Bonanza bar on Facebook, searched a little while ago.

I liked Icebergers, Choc Ice, Brunch, Mr Freeze, Feast and the simple Sparkle.

from an old thread and an excellent contributor to this forum who has this blog. :)

Funnily enough,I hated WWW as a child.
The jelly part was awful and made me retch.

Now I think it's one of my favourite ice creams.
The flavour is definitely different now,I think.
One of the few things that still exists from my childhood, that tastes better rather than worse now.

Also remember Little Devils and Little Angels.
Felt almost rebellious preferring the Little Devil one.

    Great memories there.

Remember the blocks of HB ice-cream?

We used to get the vanilla ones, but if it was a special occasion it was a Neopoliton. 3 colours!

Shops used to sell 'wafers' cut from these blocks.

I remember seeing some kind of device that measured the thickness of the ice-cream for shopkeepers to have different pricing on wafers.

Amazing the difference in prices between a "standard" ice pop, say Orange split, @18p and Cornetto@ a whopping 45p. Feast was always a good compromise @25p- chocolate in a standard ice pop shape.

There were also lots of mini choc-ice rip offs, if you want to call them that. There was one in a red wrapper, only costed 10p, and the ice-cream was so creamy. It was even nicer than the original choc-ice imo. Can't remember what it was called though.
