I just purchased the above van, it has alloys on it and the tyres arn't the best, so I want to put normal steel rims witht he correct ytres on the van, can anyone tell me what are the correct tyres for the van???

I went to a tyre place today, and he gave me a big speel about what tyres to get etc. adn to be honest I think he was taking me for a run for my money. He was trying to explain to me that I needed certain tyres that could take a heavier weight on them and these were twice the price.

Through a bit of searching I think I found that I need 175/70R14, however I see no reference to tyres needed for a heavier weight etc.

I have been told about eiretyres and camskill, prices seem to be good on these, can I just order any of the tyres with the correct tyre code adn get them fitted in a tyre place.

He's actually right, you do need 'C' rated tyres which are re-enforced for use on commercial vehicles. You will fail a DOE if the wrong tyres are fitted.

Camskill would be €322 delivered for 4 Hankook Vantras.
    Dunlop econodrive would be €372

Brilliant, thanks for the reply folks, so is it the 175/70R14 C tyres that are the correct ones for my van???

That link for the 50% part worn ones looks good for €100. Generally speaking what is not legal 10% (I.E. I have 40% left to wear down on them??), how long would they last for, or is it a pointless buy?
