Hi all, I'm looking for a wedding dress, and have seen honeypie boutique mentioned here a few times. I need advise really as I'm doing this on my own, I have no family and were not telling many people were getting maried. So has any body out there got a dress made by them, what did you think about it, and when you messured yourself did you add any thing on to your size, my waist is 38 should I add an inch or 2. I really need help!

Jumping in to say that I would love the answers to the OP's questions too!

I will be shopping on my own for a dress and I'm really considering ordering online, but I'm a bit clueless when it comes to choosing styles etc. There aren't any shops locally stocking the 50s style I'd like, and I'm nervous to blindly order online.

Hi biddywiddy, that's just how I feel, looking online some sites seem to good to be true. I've read some reviews for honeypie and they were all good, but it would be great to get a boardsie review.

    Hi,

I bought my dress there and was delighted with it. You basically pick your preferred neckline and choose whether you want tea or full length version of it. The basic dress is a heavy bridal satin and you can pay extra for chiffon or lace overlay, polka dots or sash.

I would advise giving your true measurements as the dress comes with a corset back, so can be loosened/tightened if needed. It might be worth your while getting measurements done to be doubly sure.

I ordered mine halter neck, full-length, non-gathered skirt with a chiffon overlay and sash. It arrived 12 weeks later and cost approx €350. Here are some pics to give you an idea:

Hi dolbert, the dress and you are both beautiful!!!! You really had no problems ordering from them, that's a relief because I really like their dresses. Many thanks for taking the time to answer my post you really helped me and I will be putting an order in as soon as I figure out what I want. May take some time!

Thank you. I found them great, they're based in the UK and are great for keeping you updated. Just bear in mind that it will take 3 months to be made and delivered (unless you pay extra for a rush order) so make sure to order in plenty of time - still quicker than most bridal shops though!
