Lots of good wine available at that price. Go to Lidl (not Aldi) and browse any of their wines in that price range and you should get something good. Tesco and Marks and Spencer good too, or you could try any independent off licence who should be able to recommend something way better than Blossom Hill.

As Ninap said at that price there is plenty of good wine available to you. If there is a Supervalue with an off licence section near you, they are also worth having a chat with. Describe what you want from the wine, lots of fruit or a sharper taste. Very dry or a bit sweeter. They should be able to steer you in the right direction but unfortunately the headaches might be something you will get no matter how good the wine. Still it's worth a try.

    Enjoy.

Tesco are doing a "Cellar 6 Picks" at the moment...certain well-known brand wines only €6.
Picked up some Carmen Sauvignon Blanc and it's lovely...hint of pineapple but not too fruity.

I like dry white wine, so in your case it's really what kind of wine you like.

Aldi do a really fantastic Merlot called "Andarra" for €4.99

Tesco finest Touriga Nacional. I noticed it won a silver in the IWSC and was reasonably priced. Fantastic wine. I won't bother describing the taste lest we get into pretentious 'I'm getting berry and oak notes' wine tasting territory.

If you like white wine try the Santa Rita Reserva Sauvignon blanc just under €15 in tesco.

If you want a red try the Santa Rita reserva merlot both lovely wines , make sure it says reserva on the bottle, reserva means its a step up in quality from the normal stuff.;)

'Reserva' on a Chilean wine means that the marketing department decided to put 'Reserva' on the label, it has no legal standing. On a Spanish or Portuguese wine it means it must be aged for at least one year in the cask and at least three years in total.
